Come Together

History

Come Together was formed in 2000 by Steve Oliver, Jon Green, Mike Fairman & Sacha Eldridge.

In the early days Come Together were heavily influenced by The Beatles, performing many popular hits by the Fab Four.

There was a huge demand for quality bands playing such material and subsequently, Come Together joined a very busy club circuit, perfoming locally, but often as far a field as the south coast, and Wales.

Here followed a really busy twelve months, with the band performing all over the Midlands.

In 2003 both Jon and Sacha decided to leave the band to pursue other musical avenues.

Here started a period of real disruption for Come Together, with remaining members, Steve and Mike struggling to replace such valued members of the band.

Thankfully, close friends of the band, Marc Hammond of 'The Disciples', Chris Downton and Tim Mason, both of 'Reflex' jumped to their rescue and helped the band through the best part of 2004.

In late 2005, Come Together were further strenghten by the introduction of Jules Benjamin on keyboards, guitar and vocals. Jules is a well known local musician who has released many albums in his own right.

Fittingly, The year was topped off in style with a sellout night at Drummonds on New Years Eve.

2006

2006 started as 2005 finished, with the band continuing to strengthen with their new lineup.

Come Together would like to thank Les Ames (Bass), and Simon Ramsden (Drums) both of 'The Beatless' for helping out on a number of gigs this year, and again, Tim Mason, and Sacha Eldridge for stepping into the breach - It's great to have the opportunity to play with you guys again!

Simon Ramsden now plays 'Ringo' with Nottingham based 'The Beatles Experience', a fantastic tribute to the Fab Four!

The highlight of 2006 was a weekend away at The Royal Artillery, Woolwich, London in July. Come Together played at the annual Regimental dinner dance. The band has been inundated with compliments following their performance, which finally came to a close at 3am!

I suspect that Come Together may be making a return trip sometime soon..

2007;

Things are looking great for the band in 2007, with them continuing to build upon the successes of 2006. The public diary is filling up nicely, given that it's so early in the year - Plenty of places to see them if you're thinking of booking them for your Party or Wedding. Don't leave it too long though - the band's private function diary is also filling up so this could be one of their busiest years to date! - get in contact soon to avoid being disapointed!

As predicted, 2007 was one of the busiest years so far - Come Together were inundated with weddings and parties

Come Together were priviledged to play at the Awards Night at Worcester Rugby Football Club.

It was a great night with the band, a disco, a 'Robbie Williams' tribute and a Magician. It was a fantastic night - have a look at the photos which can be viewed via our links.

Come Together were excited to be travelling back to The Royal Artillery Barracks in Woolwich, London. Following their successful gig there last year, it was another late night and lots of red eye on Sunday morning..!

Come Together would like to personally thank Richard Shelton for all of his contribution to the band. After nearly three years, Rich is leaving to pursue other musicial avenues - no doubt, he'll be back to stand in at some point!

If you want to catch up with Rich, he is playing with 'The Sarah Warren Band', a great blues influenced quartet.

The Sarah Warren Band

As of 30th June 2007, Simon Ramsden joins Come Together fulltime on Drums and Vocals. Simon has been known to the guys for over 15 years and Steve had the pleasure of playing with him in 'The B'Alls', a great little Worcester band from the mid 90's (is it time for a reunion yet?)

Simon has a great pedigree having played all over the world with a number of bands including 'The Beatless' a fantastic Beatles tribute act from Worcester (I'm sure any local people will remember them!)

Whilst the guys are really sad to see Rich leave, Come Together are chuffed to have Simon coming into the band are many years of asking!

Great News!

Come Together confirmed for New Years Eve 2007 at Drummonds, New St, Worcester!!!

2008

All change again!!

Simon has been missing his 'Beatle' roots and has decided to return to Liverpool to continue with 'Ringo' whilst he can still get away with wearing the gear! and good luck to him.

This is a shame for Come Together, but on the upside, it has allowed them to bring in Jason Hart, an excellent Worcester drummer, and close friend of the band.

You may notice that there hasn't been many public gigs this year - This is purely due to other work commitments. Come Together are still going strong and available for parties, weddings and alike.

Come Together have recently improved the variety of disco music available using a laptop based DJ package.

2009

This year has been interesting to say the least, with positives and negatives;

On the downside, founding member Mike Fairman together with Simon Jones, decided it was time to leave the band and explore new things. Good luck to them both in their new ventures - they will be missed. Mike was there when the band started and has been through all the ups and downs over the years - Thanks for all your help Mike. Hope to see the new band when you guys are up and running.

Come Together now moves forward as five piece band;

Steve Oliver - Vocals and accoustic guitar

Darren Sheppard - guitar and vocals

Pete Merridth - Bass, vocal, keyboards and guitar

Paul Hart, Guitar, Bass and....brother of Jason!

Jason Hart - Drums and goodlooks (I got paid for that)

The new five piece line up has allowed for the band to re-invent itself, giving it a new lease of life. As a five piece, the band can venture into previously unknown terittory now performing more complex material than ever before.

What this space as the band evolves again!!

2010!

2010 has seen the guys land a monthly residency at Bar 12, The Cornmarket, Worcester - one of Worcester most popular city centre bars - this has inspired them to work on new material to keep it fresh for them and the audience. Keep a look out for new dates on the 'where to see us' page.

25th June 2010 brings a welcome return to Drummonds for the guys after a 12 month break, followed by a visit on 10th July to Keystones.

Come Together have also been doing a lot of work for Worcester Rugby Club in the shape of post match parties - What better way to finish off afternoon's rugby, then watching Come Together. Buy a ticket for the rugby and get the band for free!!

Come Together are pleased to be performing at three of the Worcester Rugby Club Christmas parties this year;

The good news is that Come Together are now playing at The Pheasant PH, New Street, Worcester!!!

As per normal, the guys are inundated with weddings and parties - its gonna be a busy year!

2011

This year has started as the last one finished - very busy!!

the band is having great fun, so more of the same please!!

Come Together are now the official  resident band for The Pheasant PH, New Street. Check our listings page, but we are there every month on a Friday night.

May 2011 saw Come Together make a welcome return to Worcester Rugby Club for the clubs player awards night and ball - what a brilliant night!

Come Together have always supported local charities. 11th November saw Come Together host a fund raising evening for St. Richards Hospice, a wonderful charity supporting suffers of cancer and their families. The band and WRFC gave their services for free. The support for the evening was overwhelming and Come Together managed to raise over £2700 in just one night. Thank you all very much - I suspect another event will be on the cards for 2012..

Come Together also performed a series of Christmas gigs this year on behalf of WRFC as they did in 2010.

If you are looking to book the band for a wedding, or function please get in quick as the dates are filling up fast. Come Together are now taking booking for 2013!

Come Together look forward to seeing you at a gig soon!!

Come Together continue to be the leading cover's band in the Worcestershire area, continually making new friends and contacts throughout the Country.

The future;

Despite being into their 12th year, Come Together do not intend to hang up their guitars and drum sticks anytime soon.. They will continue to move forward, and wholly intend to be here for many years to come, still leading the way, still enjoying playing, and still enjoying the atmosphere that kept them going for all these years.

Come Together have always supported local charities through free performances and services, and will continue to do so with pleasure. Please contact Come Together via the links page should you wish to discuss availability for charity events.

Come Together would like to thank you for taking the time to view the site, and for your interest in the band.
